Week Six and Seven: Object Insanity

Programming in PythonWe keep learning more and more about Python! This week's session was great. It looked like everyone started to get the hang of programming with objects.

This week, please continue coding your War program. Later in the week, I'll post Chad's solution, so please give it a try first! Please send us an email if you have any questions or problems.

In addition, if you want to learn more about objects, spend some time reading these online references. Remember, don't just read the examples. Cut and paste them into a new program or the python shell!

  • If you want to read ahead, check out this part of the Python 101 article, section 2.5.2 LINK Run the examples on your own (just cut and paste).
  • Review the "Classes" section of the official Python tutorial LINK
  • For the card game problem, you may want to check out the "How to think like a computer scientist" Python tutorial LINK

Week 5: Pig Latin (continued)...

Programming in PythonPython Team,

Thanks again for your participation this week. We spent most of the time coding the pig latin assignment from Week 3. Please continue to work on that for next week. If you have any questions, send them to the advisors.

Also, this week, please signup for an account on www.sf.net. If you are under 18, please ask your parents first. We will use this site to organize our python project. The project's name is "python6201." Once you're signed up, please email me your username and I'll add you to the project.

See you next week!
